Our guides
We often hear the following from our guests after their trek: “without our guide I couldn’t have made it to the summit”
Truly, our guides will take care of you right from the beginning when you leave your hotel to embark on your adventure. They explain everything you are going to see and feel on Mount Kilimanjaro and they give you their support, which means always a helping hand and the advice to go “Pole Pole”, slowly slowly. But most importantly: they use their techniques and extensive experience to keep you going when you are close to reaching your limits.
Our guides are all fluent in English, have been trained in first aid and hold a valid license to climb all routes on Kilimanjaro. In case of an emergency they will help you to come down via the evacuation tracks to the nearest gate. All our guides, like many Tanzanians for that matter, have a good sense of humor and will help make your trip the experience of a life time.
Our Kilimanjaro guides are organised in the Kilimanjaro Guides Association (KGA). We currently employ 15 permanent guides. Each guide is in charge of his team consisting of assistant guides, cook(s) and porters. Let us introduce some of our guides:
